Corporate Event Emcee in Washington DC: Will Gill
Short answer
If you need an emcee in Washington DC for a corporate program, Will Gill is a corporate event emcee and DJ who has worked the DC market since 2022, including AT&T’s 2023 program in the District and a January 2024 conference at Gaylord National in National Harbor.
One booking covers three jobs: DJ, emcee and a one-man team-building show. He holds 2,520 five-star Google reviews, was named the number one corporate DJ by The Wall Street Journal, and is a Forbes Next 1000 honoree. Rates are published below.

Where I have actually worked in and around Washington DC
Most emcee pages for this city are written by people who have never been in a DC ballroom. These are the programs in my own records.
| When | The room |
|---|---|
| October 2022 | Live corporate event in Washington, D.C. The photo at the top of this page is from that day. |
| March 2023 | AT&T corporate program in Washington, D.C., with a custom set design built for the room. |
| January 2024 | Corporate conference at Gaylord National Resort and Convention Center, National Harbor, just across the river from the District. |
Each row is backed by a contract, certificate of insurance or event folder in my records. I do not list rooms I have not stood in.
What a corporate emcee does that a “host” from the agenda cannot
Washington DC programs skew toward associations, government contractors and policy conferences, which means long agendas, many speakers and a room that has heard a thousand introductions. The emcee’s job is to make the schedule hold and the audience stay awake, not to be the star.
| Moment in the program | What I am doing |
|---|---|
| Doors and walk-in | DJing the room to the energy the opening needs, then bringing the house to order on time without a producer having to beg. |
| Executive handoffs | Short, accurate introductions, names pronounced right, sponsor reads delivered as written, and the clock protected when a speaker runs long. |
| Awards block | Pacing thirty names so the room still cares about the thirtieth, with walk-up music matched to each winner. |
| The dead spot | When the laptop dies or the caterer is late, the interactive team-building show fills the gap on purpose instead of by accident. |
| Reception | The same person who ran the general session DJs the party, so the energy never resets and there is one contract, one point of contact. |
That is the 3-in-1: DJ, emcee and a one-man team-building show. Planners book one vendor instead of three, and the person on the microphone has already run the room since doors.
Why DC rooms are busier than they look
Washington DC is one of the most competitive meetings markets in the country, and the strongest local vendors book out early around citywide conventions and the fall association season. The size of the market is not a guess.
- More than 27.2 million people visited Washington, DC in 2025, the third straight record year for visitation and economic impact. (Source: Destination DC press release)
- Visitors spent a record $11.9 billion in 2025, generating $2.4 billion in tax revenue and supporting 114,013 jobs. (Source: Destination DC press release)
- The Marriott Marquis, the convention center headquarters hotel, alone offers more than 100,000 square feet of meeting space across five levels. (Source: Marriott Marquis Washington, DC)
The practical takeaway: if your date sits in September through December or on a citywide-convention week, lock the host before the venue fills the calendar. Sixty to ninety days is comfortable for everything else.

What it costs to book a corporate emcee in Washington DC
My rates are published, so there is nothing to negotiate around. Half day is $5,000. Full day is $8,000. Rehearsal-only is $1,000. Multi-day programs get $1,000 off each additional day after day one. Virtual hosting is $2,300 for the first hour and $2,000 each additional hour. Travel to Washington DC is coordinated as part of the booking so nothing lands on the planner’s plate.
A DC association program usually needs the full day: general session in the morning, breakouts, an awards dinner and a reception. If the ask is only the evening, say so and the half-day rate applies.
Five questions to ask any corporate emcee, including me
- “Walk me through how you handle a run of show that slips 20 minutes.” A working emcee answers instantly and unemotionally. A voice-for-hire talks about their intro.
- “Who is riding the fader on my CEO’s microphone?” If nobody owns the podium feed, your executives will fight the room.
- “Show me footage of you talking to a corporate audience, not a dance floor.” Everyone has party clips. Very few have footage of holding a general session.
- “Can I have the name of the specific person performing, in the contract?” Essential with agencies and multi-host rosters.
- “What is not included in this number?” Staging, uplighting, LED, labor and travel move a quote enormously. Ask before you compare.
Frequently asked questions about booking a corporate emcee in Washington DC
How much does a corporate emcee cost in Washington DC?
Will Gill’s published rates are $5,000 for a half day and $8,000 for a full day, with $1,000 off each additional day on multi-day programs and rehearsal-only days at $1,000. Virtual hosting starts at $2,300 for the first hour. The fee covers DJ, emcee and the one-man team-building show in one booking.
Has Will Gill actually worked events in Washington DC?
Yes. His records include a corporate event in the District in October 2022, AT&T’s 2023 program in Washington, D.C., and a January 2024 conference at Gaylord National in National Harbor. Those are listed on this page with the records behind each one.
How far in advance should we book an emcee for a Washington DC event?
Sixty to ninety days ahead is comfortable for most dates. September through December and citywide-convention weeks book out earliest, because DC hosted more than 27.2 million visitors in 2025 and the strongest vendors are committed well ahead on those weeks.
Which Washington DC venues can Will Gill work?
Any of them. He advances audio and staging directly with each venue’s production team, and has worked rooms from boardroom offsites to convention-scale general sessions. The venue list on this page covers the National Building Museum, the Marriott Marquis, the JW Marriott and Gaylord National with each room’s published capacity.
Does Will Gill travel to Washington DC, and who handles the travel?
Yes. Travel is coordinated as part of the booking, so the planner sends the date, venue and format and nothing else lands on their plate. Rates are the same regardless of city.
Can the same person emcee the general session and DJ the reception?
That is the core of the offering. The person who runs the general session DJs the party, so the energy never resets between segments and there is one contract and one point of contact all day.
What is the one-man team-building show?
An interactive audience-engagement segment run from the stage, built to get reluctant coworkers participating and to raise morale rather than fill silence. It slots into an agenda as a 20 to 45 minute block or fills a dead spot when a program slips.
Is there a virtual or hybrid option for distributed DC teams?
Yes. Will hosts virtual DJ sets, virtual emcee segments and interactive team-building over Zoom or Teams, starting at $2,300 for the first hour. Hybrid programs combine an in-room show with a produced stream for remote attendees.
Does Will Gill handle sponsor reads and executive introductions?
Yes. Sponsor reads are delivered as written, names are confirmed and pronounced correctly in advance, and executive handoffs are timed to protect the clock when a speaker runs long.
Is Will Gill available as a keynote speaker for a DC conference as well?
Yes. He speaks on morale and audience engagement through The Moralegorithm keynote, and can pair a keynote with hosting the same program. Details are on the keynote speaker page linked on this page.
