Corporate Event Emcee and Entertainment in Louisville: Will Gill
Short answer
If you need a corporate emcee or corporate entertainment in Louisville, Will Gill is a corporate event emcee and DJ who worked a three-day conference at the Omni Louisville Hotel in January 2023, running the program out of the Commonwealth Ballroom.
One booking covers three jobs: DJ, emcee and a one-man team-building show. He holds 2,520 five-star Google reviews, was named the number one corporate DJ by The Wall Street Journal, and is a Forbes Next 1000 honoree. Rates are published below.

Where I have actually worked in and around Louisville
Most emcee pages for this city are written by people who have never stood in a Louisville ballroom. This is the program in my own records.
| When | The room |
|---|---|
| January 19 to 21, 2023 | Three-day conference at the Omni Louisville Hotel, working out of the Commonwealth Ballroom as emcee and DJ, with a storytelling segment and a DJ intro set built for the client. |
Each row is backed by a contract, certificate of insurance or event folder in my records. I do not list rooms I have not stood in.
What a corporate emcee does that a “host” from the agenda cannot
Louisville programs lean on health, logistics, manufacturing, food and beverage and business services, which means sales kickoffs, safety summits and recognition dinners with real agendas, plus Derby-season hospitality that pulls corporate groups to Churchill Downs. The audience has sat through a thousand introductions. The emcee’s job is to make the schedule hold and the room stay awake, not to be the star.
| Moment in the program | What I am doing |
|---|---|
| Doors and walk-in | DJing the room to the energy the opening needs, then bringing the house to order on time without a producer having to beg. |
| Executive handoffs | Short, accurate introductions, names pronounced right, sponsor reads delivered as written, and the clock protected when a speaker runs long. |
| Awards block | Pacing thirty names so the room still cares about the thirtieth, with walk-up music matched to each winner. |
| The dead spot | When the laptop dies or the caterer is late, the interactive team-building show fills the gap on purpose instead of by accident. |
| Reception | The same person who ran the general session DJs the party, so the energy never resets and there is one contract, one point of contact. |
That is the 3-in-1: DJ, emcee and a one-man team-building show. Planners book one vendor instead of three, and the person on the microphone has already run the room since doors.
Why Louisville rooms are busier than they look
Louisville runs a real convention calendar, and the busiest convention center in the country is in it. The size of the market is not a guess.
- Louisville Tourism reports tourism generated $4.4 billion in economic impact and 72,000 jobs, with 2025 the third consecutive year of tourism records. (Source: Louisville Tourism press release, December 22, 2025)
- During its fiscal year the Kentucky Exposition Center was ranked the number one busiest convention center in the U.S., and Louisville Muhammad Ali International Airport is in the middle of a $1 billion modernization after its busiest year yet. (Source: Louisville Tourism press release, December 22, 2025)
- The region’s economy emphasizes health, logistics, manufacturing, food and beverage and business services, is home to UPS Worldport, and 95 percent of the world’s bourbon is made in Kentucky. (Source: Greater Louisville Inc, business and industries)
The practical takeaway: Derby week and the convention calendar fill hotel ballrooms early, and race-day hospitality at Churchill Downs opens based on demand. Lock the host sixty to ninety days out, earlier if your date touches the first Saturday in May.

What it costs to book a corporate emcee in Louisville
My rates are published, so there is nothing to negotiate around. Half day is $5,000. Full day is $8,000. Rehearsal-only is $1,000. Multi-day programs get $1,000 off each additional day after day one. Virtual hosting is $2,300 for the first hour and $2,000 each additional hour. Travel to Louisville is coordinated as part of the booking so nothing lands on the planner’s plate.
A Louisville kickoff or safety summit usually needs the full day: general session, breakouts, an awards dinner and a reception. A Derby-week client reception on its own is the half-day rate. Travel is coordinated as part of the booking so nothing lands on the planner’s plate.
Five questions to ask any corporate emcee, including me
- “Walk me through how you handle a run of show that slips 20 minutes.” A working emcee answers instantly and unemotionally. A voice-for-hire talks about their intro.
- “Who is riding the fader on my CEO’s microphone?” If nobody owns the podium feed, your executives will fight the room.
- “Show me footage of you talking to a corporate audience, not a dance floor.” Everyone has party clips. Very few have footage of holding a general session.
- “Can I have the name of the specific person performing, in the contract?” Essential with agencies and multi-host rosters.
- “What is not included in this number?” Staging, uplighting, LED, labor and travel move a quote enormously. Ask before you compare.
Frequently asked questions about booking a corporate emcee in Louisville
Have you emceed in Louisville before?
Yes. Will worked a three-day conference at the Omni Louisville Hotel in January 2023, running the program out of the Commonwealth Ballroom as emcee and DJ. That program is listed on this page with the records behind it.
What does a corporate emcee cost in Louisville?
Will Gill’s published rates are $5,000 for a half day and $8,000 for a full day, with $1,000 off each additional day on multi-day programs and rehearsal-only days at $1,000. Virtual hosting starts at $2,300 for the first hour and $2,000 each additional hour. Every booking is the 3-in-1 show: emcee, DJ and one-man team-building.
Which Louisville venues can you work?
Any of them. Downtown, the Kentucky International Convention Center runs 300,000 square feet with 52 meeting rooms and seats 175 to 4,000. The Galt House has over 130,000 square feet and 53 meeting rooms. The Omni’s Commonwealth Ballroom is 20,361 square feet and seats 2,250 theatre-style. For larger shows, the Kentucky Exposition Center has 1.2 million square feet.
Can you host a Derby-themed or Churchill Downs event?
Yes. Churchill Downs rents spaces such as the Ford First Turn Club, seated 1,922 or reception 3,000, and Millionaires Row, seated 840, for corporate receptions and galas. Race-day hospitality spaces open based on demand and availability, so book the date early. Will builds the run of show around the Derby energy rather than fighting it.
Why do Louisville companies book an emcee instead of a DJ alone?
Louisville’s economy leans on health, logistics, manufacturing, food and beverage and business services, which means sales kickoffs, safety summits and recognition dinners with real agendas. An emcee keeps that agenda on time and keeps the room engaged between segments. The DJ set is one of three services in Will’s booking.
How big is the Louisville meetings market?
Louisville Tourism reports tourism generated $4.4 billion in economic impact and 72,000 jobs, with 2025 the third consecutive record year, and the Kentucky Exposition Center was ranked the busiest convention center in the U.S. during its fiscal year. Louisville runs a real convention calendar, so entertainment dates fill early.
Does an out-of-town emcee cost more in travel?
Travel is coordinated as part of the booking and quoted with the contract, so there are no surprise line items. Will has flown into Louisville for a multi-day program before, and the city’s airport is in the middle of a $1 billion modernization.
Can you run a smaller executive dinner or offsite?
Yes. Rooms like the Muhammad Ali Center’s View Pointe Hall, 6,700 square feet with 400 at seated rounds or 500 standing, suit leadership dinners and awards nights. Will scales the show to the room.
Do you do team-building for Louisville groups?
Yes. The one-man team-building show is interactive audience engagement built into the emcee role, with no extra vendors or breakout rooms needed. It slots into an agenda as a 20 to 45 minute block or fills a dead spot when a program slips.
Can we book a virtual or hybrid event for Kentucky teams?
Yes. Virtual is $2,300 for the first hour and $2,000 each additional hour, and the same emcee, DJ set and interactive games run on Zoom or Teams for distributed teams across Kentucky and Southern Indiana.
