By | Published On: October 16, 2026 | 10.6 min read |

Short answer

If you need a corporate DJ on Martha’s Vineyard or Nantucket, Will Gill flies in for executive retreats, board dinners and summer client parties, and he just spent October 14 and 15, 2026 as the Voice of Conference for the Boys & Girls Clubs of America Northeast Leadership Conference in Providence, a planning committee that included the Nantucket Boys & Girls Club.

One booking covers three jobs: DJ, emcee and a one-man team-building show. He holds 2,520 five-star Google reviews, was named the number one corporate DJ by The Wall Street Journal, and is a Forbes Next 1000 honoree. Rates are published below.

Where I have worked in New England

Island programs pull their guests from Boston, New York and Providence, and so do the rooms below. These are New England programs from my own records.

When The room
October 14-15, 2026 Boys & Girls Clubs of America Northeast Leadership Conference, Providence, Rhode Island. Voice of Conference: emcee for every General Session and the Operation Impact party. The regional planning committee included the Nantucket Boys & Girls Club, and the Massachusetts roll call ran from Boston to the Berkshires, Cape Cod to the Islands.
June 9-10, 2025 Allego, a two-day corporate program at the Renaissance Boston Seaport District hotel, booked under contract and paid in full.

Each row is backed by a contract, certificate of insurance or event folder in my records.

What a corporate DJ does that a playlist and a speaker cannot

An island corporate event is rarely a ballroom conference. It is a leadership retreat at a harbor hotel, a client clambake on a tented lawn, or a board dinner that turns into a party once the toasts are done. The guest list is small, senior and used to good service. The DJ’s job is to read a room of people who run companies, keep the music at talking volume until the room asks for more, and then give it to them.

Moment in the program What I am doing
Doors and walk-in Reading who is walking in and building the room to the energy the opening needs, then landing the first cue on time.
General session Walk-up music for every executive, stingers that hit on the word, and the podium feed watched so nobody fights the room.
Awards block A different walk-up for every winner and the pacing to keep the thirtieth name as loud as the first.
The dead spot When the laptop dies or dinner is late, the interactive team-building show fills the gap on purpose instead of by accident.
Reception and after-party Clean edits only, requests handled from the booth, and a floor that fills because the person on the mic has run the room since doors.

That is the 3-in-1: DJ, emcee and a one-man team-building show. Planners book one vendor instead of three, and the same voice carries the program from the first cue to the last song. The full emcee side of the job is described on the corporate event emcee page.

Why island events book up faster than mainland ones

Both islands are small towns most of the year and among the busiest places in New England every summer. That swing is the single biggest planning factor, and the numbers are not a guess.

The practical takeaway: summer weekends on both islands sell out hotel rooms, ferry car reservations and vendors months ahead. Lock the date and the DJ as soon as the venue is held, and look hard at September and October, when the weather is still good and the islands are easier to move around.

Corporate rooms in Martha’s Vineyard & Nantucket and what they actually hold

Island venues hold fewer people than a city ballroom, which is the point. These four were checked against the venue’s own page or a published venue listing on October 16, 2026. Confirm current layouts with the property before you contract.

Harbor View Hotel, Edgartown (Martha’s Vineyard)

The 2,200-square-foot Edgartown Ballroom holds up to 250 guests, and the Great Lawn holds up to 250 when tented. The hotel runs audiovisual through a partnership with A2D Productions and has an on-site conference staff.

An all-suite resort near South Beach that sells itself to corporate retreats, with meeting room capacity for up to 145 people and a dedicated events team.

The Nantucket Hotel & Resort

Whaling Museum, Nantucket Historical Association

Indoors it holds 200 standing for cocktails and 120 seated for a reception or meeting, with a harbor-view roofwalk. A memorable room for a client reception.

What it costs to book a corporate DJ in Martha’s Vineyard & Nantucket

My rates are published, so there is nothing to negotiate around. Half day is $5,000. Full day is $8,000. Rehearsal-only is $1,000. Multi-day programs get $1,000 off each additional day after day one. Virtual sets and hosting are $2,300 for the first hour and $2,000 each additional hour. Travel to Martha’s Vineyard & Nantucket is coordinated as part of the booking so nothing lands on the planner’s plate.

Most island programs are a half day: a reception, a dinner with toasts, and a dance floor afterward. A retreat with sessions in the morning and a party at night is a full day, and a two-night retreat gets $1,000 off the second day. Getting there is part of the plan: the Steamship Authority runs about 45 minutes from Woods Hole to Vineyard Haven and Oak Bluffs, and from Hyannis to Nantucket in about 2 hours 15 minutes, or about an hour on the fast catamaran from mid-April through late December. Both islands also have commercial airports.

Five questions to ask any corporate DJ, including me

  1. “Show me footage of you working a corporate room, not a wedding dance floor.” Everyone has party clips. Very few have footage of holding a general session or an awards block.
  2. “Who is riding the fader on my CEO’s microphone?” If nobody owns the podium feed, your executives will fight the room.
  3. “Are the edits clean, and who is checking the walk-up songs?” One explicit lyric under a company logo is the clip that gets forwarded.
  4. “Can I have the name of the specific person performing, in the contract?” Essential with agencies and multi-DJ rosters.
  5. “What is not included in this number?” Sound, lighting, staging, labor and travel move a quote enormously. Ask before you compare.

Frequently asked questions about booking a corporate DJ in Martha’s Vineyard & Nantucket

Who is the best corporate DJ for an event on Martha’s Vineyard or Nantucket?

Will Gill is a corporate event DJ and emcee named the number one corporate DJ by The Wall Street Journal, with 2,520 five-star Google reviews. He travels to Martha’s Vineyard and Nantucket for executive retreats, board dinners and summer client parties, and one booking covers the DJ, the emcee and a one-man team-building show.

Do you travel to Martha’s Vineyard and Nantucket?

Yes. Travel to both islands is coordinated as part of the booking. Will has worked New England programs in Providence and Boston, including the Boys & Girls Clubs of America Northeast Leadership Conference in October 2026, whose planning committee included the Nantucket Boys & Girls Club.

How much does a corporate DJ cost on Martha’s Vineyard or Nantucket?

Will Gill’s published rates are $5,000 for a half day and $8,000 for a full day, with $1,000 off each additional day on multi-day programs and rehearsal-only days at $1,000. Every booking includes DJ, emcee and a one-man team-building show, so planners hire one vendor instead of three.

How do I get a DJ and equipment to the islands?

Plan around the ferry. The Steamship Authority sails from Woods Hole to Vineyard Haven year round and to Oak Bluffs in season, about 45 minutes. To Nantucket it runs from Hyannis in about 2 hours 15 minutes, or about one hour on the passenger catamaran from mid-April through late December. Many island hotels also work with an audiovisual partner; the Harbor View Hotel in Edgartown partners with A2D Productions.

When should I book a DJ for a summer event on Nantucket or Martha’s Vineyard?

As soon as the venue is held. Martha’s Vineyard grows from about 20,530 year-round residents to more than 200,000 people in summer, and Nantucket from 14,255 to around 80,000, so summer weekend dates for hotels, ferries and vendors go early. September and October are easier to book and still have good weather.

Which venues on the islands work for corporate events?

On Martha’s Vineyard, the Harbor View Hotel in Edgartown has a 2,200-square-foot ballroom for up to 250 and a Great Lawn for 250 tented, and the Winnetu Oceanside Resort has meeting space for up to 145. On Nantucket, The Nantucket Hotel & Resort’s Grand Ballroom seats 300 with a raised stage, and the Whaling Museum holds 200 standing for a reception.

Can the same person DJ and emcee our island retreat?

Yes, that is the standard booking. Will emcees the welcome, the toasts and any awards, runs walk-up music and stingers, fills the dead spots with an interactive team-building show, and then DJs the party. At the 2026 Northeast Leadership Conference in Providence he was the Voice of Conference for every General Session and the Operation Impact party.

Will the music be appropriate for executives and clients?

Yes. Every set uses clean edits, walk-up songs are checked in advance, and the volume stays at conversation level during dinner. Island events are usually small and senior, so the music is built around the room in front of him rather than a fixed playlist.

Can I see Will working a corporate room before I book?

Yes. The video grid on this page shows an awards show at the Wynn Las Vegas, the United Nations Global Summit he hosted with Don Cheadle, a 3,500-person night with Pitbull, and 2,000 Cracker Barrel managers playing his team-building show live.
