Corporate Event Emcee in Tucson: Will Gill
Short answer
If you need a corporate emcee in Tucson, Will Gill is a corporate event emcee and DJ who ran a corporate evening program in a full ballroom at the JW Marriott Tucson Starr Pass in November 2025, and the photo at the top of this page is from that night.
One booking covers three jobs: DJ, emcee and a one-man team-building show. He holds 2,520 five-star Google reviews, was named the number one corporate DJ by The Wall Street Journal, and is a Forbes Next 1000 honoree. Rates are published below.

Where I have actually worked in and around Tucson
Most emcee pages for this city are written by people who have never stood in a Tucson ballroom. This is the program in my own records.
| When | The room |
|---|---|
| November 6, 2025 | Corporate evening program for a national training company at the JW Marriott Tucson Starr Pass Resort. Emcee and DJ from the booth for a company talent-show format in a full ballroom. |
Each row is backed by a contract, certificate of insurance or event folder in my records. I do not list rooms I have not stood in.
What a corporate emcee does that a “host” from the agenda cannot
Tucson programs are resort conferences: multi-day general sessions at Starr Pass, La Paloma and Ventana Canyon, awards galas, and evening programs that move outdoors after sunset. The audience has sat through a thousand introductions. The emcee’s job is to make the schedule hold and the room stay awake, not to be the star.
| Moment in the program | What I am doing |
|---|---|
| Doors and walk-in | DJing the room to the energy the opening needs, then bringing the house to order on time without a producer having to beg. |
| Executive handoffs | Short, accurate introductions, names pronounced right, sponsor reads delivered as written, and the clock protected when a speaker runs long. |
| Awards block | Pacing thirty names so the room still cares about the thirtieth, with walk-up music matched to each winner. |
| The dead spot | When the laptop dies or the caterer is late, the interactive team-building show fills the gap on purpose instead of by accident. |
| Reception | The same person who ran the general session DJs the party, so the energy never resets and there is one contract, one point of contact. |
That is the 3-in-1: DJ, emcee and a one-man team-building show. Planners book one vendor instead of three, and the person on the microphone has already run the room since doors.
Why Tucson rooms are busier than they look
Tucson is a resort-conference market with a winter high season that compresses hotel inventory hard. The size of the market is not a guess.
- Visitors spent $2.9 billion in Pima County in 2024, supporting 22,900 travel-related jobs, with 6.1 million total visitors to Tucson and Southern Arizona. (Source: Visit Tucson 2024-25 Annual Report, citing AOT and Dean Runyan and Associates)
- Visit Tucson’s meetings sales team booked 430 meetings worth 203,809 room nights and $92.4 million in economic impact in fiscal 2024-25. (Source: Visit Tucson 2024-25 Annual Report)
- The 2025 Tucson Gem, Mineral and Fossil Showcase, held February 1 to 16, generated $286 million in direct spending, per an Arizona State University Seidman Research Institute study. (Source: Visit Tucson)
The practical takeaway: January through March is the high season and the Gem Show weeks compress every resort in town. Book emcee dates for winter as early as your venue contract is signed. Sixty to ninety days is comfortable the rest of the year.

What it costs to book a corporate emcee in Tucson
My rates are published, so there is nothing to negotiate around. Half day is $5,000. Full day is $8,000. Rehearsal-only is $1,000. Multi-day programs get $1,000 off each additional day after day one. Virtual hosting is $2,300 for the first hour and $2,000 each additional hour. Travel to Tucson is coordinated as part of the booking so nothing lands on the planner’s plate.
A Tucson resort conference usually runs two or three days, and Will hosting every general session is priced as one full day plus discounted additional days. An evening awards program on its own is the half-day rate. Travel is coordinated as part of the booking so nothing lands on the planner’s plate.
Five questions to ask any corporate emcee, including me
- “Walk me through how you handle a run of show that slips 20 minutes.” A working emcee answers instantly and unemotionally. A voice-for-hire talks about their intro.
- “Who is riding the fader on my CEO’s microphone?” If nobody owns the podium feed, your executives will fight the room.
- “Show me footage of you talking to a corporate audience, not a dance floor.” Everyone has party clips. Very few have footage of holding a general session.
- “Can I have the name of the specific person performing, in the contract?” Essential with agencies and multi-host rosters.
- “What is not included in this number?” Staging, uplighting, LED, labor and travel move a quote enormously. Ask before you compare.
Frequently asked questions about booking a corporate emcee in Tucson
Has Will Gill worked corporate events in Tucson before?
Yes. On November 6, 2025 he ran a corporate evening program in a full ballroom at the JW Marriott Tucson Starr Pass, as emcee and DJ from the booth. The photo at the top of this page is from that night, and the event is listed with the records behind it.
Do you emcee corporate events in Tucson, or only DJ them?
Both, in one contract. Will hosts the general session, keeps the run of show on time, and runs the room as the DJ. At Starr Pass the run of show sat open on the laptop next to the decks all night.
How much does a corporate emcee cost in Tucson?
Will Gill’s published rates are $5,000 for a half day and $8,000 for a full day, with $1,000 off each additional day on multi-day programs and rehearsal-only days at $1,000. Virtual hosting starts at $2,300 for the first hour and $2,000 each additional hour. Every booking is the 3-in-1 show: emcee, DJ and one-man team-building.
Is there a discount for a multi-day conference at Starr Pass or La Paloma?
Yes: $1,000 off each additional day after day one. A three-day program with Will hosting every general session is priced as one full day plus two discounted days.
How big is the Tucson meetings market?
Bigger than its size suggests. Visitors spent $2.9 billion in Pima County in 2024, supporting 22,900 travel-related jobs, and Visit Tucson’s meetings team booked 430 meetings worth 203,809 room nights and $92.4 million in economic impact in fiscal 2024-25.
When is Tucson’s high season for corporate events?
Winter and early spring. The 2025 Gem, Mineral and Fossil Showcase alone, February 1 to 16, generated $286 million in direct spending, and resort inventory compresses around it. Book emcee dates for January through March as early as your venue contract is signed.
Can a Tucson program run outdoors?
Yes, and the resorts are built for it: Loews Ventana Canyon lists 83,000 square feet of indoor and outdoor meeting space, the Westin La Paloma 110,000 square feet indoor and outdoor, and the AVA Amphitheater at Casino Del Sol seats almost 5,000. In summer, schedule outdoor segments for after sunset and keep the general session indoors.
Which Tucson venues do you recommend for an awards gala?
For 1,000 plus, the Tucson Convention Center’s 20,164-square-foot Grand Ballroom seats 1,200 banquet-style. For a theater-style show, the Fox Tucson Theatre seats 1,164 including the balcony, with three lobby spaces for an 800 to 1,000 person reception. For a resort gala, the Arizona Ballroom at Starr Pass or the 18,000-square-foot ballroom at the Westin La Paloma.
How do local Tucson DJ companies compare to a dedicated corporate emcee?
Tucson’s local companies are strong wedding DJs who list emceeing as an add-on, with DJ packages published from about $950 to $3,049. Will’s role is the opposite order: a stage host and one-man team-building show first, with DJ as part of the same booking, backed by 2,520 five-star Google reviews.
Is there a virtual or hybrid option for distributed Arizona teams?
Yes. Will hosts virtual DJ sets, virtual emcee segments and interactive team-building over Zoom or Teams, starting at $2,300 for the first hour, and hybrid programs pair an in-room show at a Tucson resort with a produced stream for remote offices.
